Cooperative preschools are established and operated by parents who share the common values and philosophy in early childhood education. Under the guidance of a qualified Early Childhood Educator, parents work closely in the classroom. The philosophy is that parent and child go to school together. It is common to see parents share their talents during the enrichment times, assist the primary teacher with instructional exercises and take leadership roles in many activities. Due to the strong participation and involvement of parents, cooperative preschools offer a unique family educational experience.
Parents remain involved with their child's development and gain a greater understanding of their child's abilities, personality and social development. Cooperative preschools are operated and administered by a consortium of parents. They are non-profit and non-sectarian.
